Ava DeSantis ’19 has received the Young Leader Award from the Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancy.
During this past summer, DeSantis operated a face-painting booth at the Delmar Farmers Market, where she and a friend painted faces for four hours every Saturday. At the conclusion of the summer, she donated $600, or 100 percent of the proceeds, to the Conservancy. In a profile of DeSantis for the Conservancy newsletter, Ava said: “Supporting local organizations can make a big difference in your community, and ultimately the world.
