Doane Stuart Receives Official Proclamation and Citation of Honor in Celebration of 50th Anniversary
The 2025–2026 school year marks a milestone in the life of The Doane Stuart School: 50 years of shaping young minds, building community, and inspiring students to lead lives of purpose and service.
Founded in 1975 through the merger of two long-standing schools—Kenwood Academy and St. Agnes School—Doane Stuart has grown into a vibrant, independent, interfaith learning community serving students from Early Childhood through Grade 12. From its earliest days, the school has remained committed to academic excellence, character development, and fostering a spirit of inquiry and compassion in its students.
To commemorate this golden anniversary, the Doane Stuart community came together in June for a celebratory 50th Anniversary Soirée, held at the beautiful Franklin Terrace Ballroom in Troy, NY. The evening was filled with joy, reconnection, and deep gratitude for the people and values that have shaped Doane Stuart across five remarkable decades.

We were honored to welcome Congressman Paul D. Tonko, who joined us in celebration and presented the school with an official proclamation from the U.S. House of Representatives, recognizing and commending Doane Stuart’s 50 years of service in education. His presence and words were a powerful reminder of the school’s enduring impact—not only on its students and families but also on the broader Capital Region community.
Adding to the momentous occasion, Doane Stuart also received a Citation of Honor from the New York State Assembly, a gesture that further underscores the significance of this milestone in our school’s history.
The soirée was a beautiful evening of reflection and celebration, attended by alumni, faculty, families, and friends of the school—each one a part of the story that has made Doane Stuart what it is today.
