A Perfect Fall Evening: Corn Roast & Senior Night at Doane Stuart
Each fall, as the air turns crisp and the campus takes on the glow of the season, the Doane Stuart community gathers for one of our favorite traditions — Corn Roast. What began decades ago as a simple fall get together has evolved into a cherished annual event that brings together students, families, alumni, faculty, and friends to celebrate everything that makes our school special.
A long standing Doane Stuart tradition, Corn Roast has changed over the years — new faces, new activities, and new memories — but one thing has never changed: the spirit of community, fun, and school pride that fills the campus each fall. Our very own Pit Masters Febrey and Foster once again lived up to their reputation, serving up perfectly grilled corn — a fan favorite that’s become synonymous with the event itself. Meanwhile, on the field, the Boys Varsity Soccer team gave fans plenty to cheer about in a dynamic, hard-fought game that showcased their talent, teamwork, and determination. The cheers for our Thunderchickens could be heard across campus.
The evening also marked a special milestone as we honored our senior players, recognizing their leadership, sportsmanship, and the many ways they’ve contributed to our school community over the years. As the sun set and the lights came on, the celebration didn’t stop. Upper School students carried the spirit of the night forward with a lively game of Loup, filling the campus with laughter and friendly competition late into the evening.
It was, in every sense, a perfect fall night — one that captured the heart of Doane Stuart: connection, community, and pride in who we are.
