Middle School Trip to Washington DC

Everyone is entitled to their own political opinions, but Middle School students who traveled to Washington DC could probably agree on one thing: House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has a pretty sweet view from the personal balcony of her office, just one of the unique locations the students and chaperones were able to visit during their three day trip to the nation’s capital.

A Middle School tradition, which takes in history, civics, law, and government, the trip down south enabled the students to see many DC landmarks up close, including the Capitol Rotunda and the iconic cherry blossoms. They also visited the monumental statue of Martin Luther King at his eponymous memorial on the anniversary of the Civil Rights Leader’s death.

The chance to see the House Speaker’s office occured because the Congresswoman was traveling, enabling the group a once in a lifetime panorama of the National Mall.
