Welcome to Doane Stuart, where students from grades 5-12 thrive in an environment that fosters intellectual curiosity, academic rigor, and personal growth. Our curriculum blends time-tested traditions with the flexibility to inspire students to pursue their passions. In our classrooms, active engagement, thoughtful inquiry, and genuine scholarship are at the heart of every learning experience.
At Doane Stuart, students not only receive a high-quality education but also build lifelong relationships – with both teachers and peers – shaped by a shared love of learning. Here, the joy of discovery, the value of asking questions, and the power of understanding are integral to each student’s journey.
As we celebrate our 50th year, we reflect with gratitude on all who have been part of our history and look forward to an exciting future ahead. Join us in continuing this remarkable journey at Doane Stuart.

There are no Advanced Placement courses at Doane Stuart. And the students don’t take any standardized tests. This is a long-standing philosophical and pedagogical decision that ensures that teachers do not need they feel to teach to a test or move a pace counter to their own instinct of what is best for the class.

With our coaches, John Fitzsimmons and Jim Miggins, our softball team would take road trips to see the New York Yankees play baseball. Those trips were hilarious, with jokes, songs and crazy antics all-around.

I spent four years living with girls from different countries, different socio-economic backgrounds, and different religious beliefs. I learned to respect people who were different from me, listen to others, and value cultural differences.
