2018 Summer College Visits

Again this summer, Upper School students enjoyed the opportunity to visit colleges with Director of College Counseling Kathleen Bracken.  From lunches in dining halls to private campus tours, students were introduced to a wide variety of institutions and academic offerings.

Ms. Bracken and the group of 12 Doane Stuart students first traveled to Vermont where they visited University of Vermont & St. Michael’s College to start off their 3-day trip north.  They then headed across the border to Canada to McGill University and Concordia University in Montreal, Québec.  After visiting the great white north, the group visited Clarkson University and St. Lawrence University back in New York’s St. Lawrence County.

A special treat during this year’s trip was a visit from Doane Stuart alumnus Schyler Schewe ’14.  Schyler joined the group at his alma mater,  Saint Michael’s College, from where he recently graduated with a BS in Biology and minors in chemistry and philosophy.

Special thanks to Mr. Wheaton for driving the Doane Stuart bus, and see more photos this summer’s college visits below!
