The return to school provides a type of New Year’s excitement; a chance to re-launch the journey towards a lifelong appreciation of learning, towards abstract reasoning and honed academic skills, and for some towards graduation. As the summer winds down, we can reflect on our time away and prepare for the return of alarm clocks and uniforms. back
I get excited at the prospect of new friends and renewed friendships; Ralph Waldo Emerson reminds us that “the only way to have a friend is to be one.” As the community of a school gathers, there is a chance to take stock of the world around us and consider our part in making the experience of school positive and successful for our friends and ourselves.
So enjoy the final swims, the last cookouts, the good book almost finished, and we’ll see each other very soon.
Did you miss our end-of-the-year celebrations in June, or would you enjoy a look back at the 2015-2016 School year?
