Clarke received this honor at the 2017 Capital Region Marcom Awards, held at the GE Theater at Proctors in Schenectady on November 16.  Since first starting at Doane Stuart in 2014, her fourth school as Head, Clarke has been a champion for DS in the community, proudly promoting the many accomplishments of our students and faculty.

Clarke leads the five-person Communications team at Doane Stuart that is responsible for all of DS’ marketing, advertising, and publication efforts.  In accepting the award, she was quick to praise her other team members:

“I didn’t win this prize, my team did.  Our communications team is tiny: One Admission Director who (in addition to choosing who gets to come to DS) does our social media (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), puts videos to the website, films the videos first, writes press releases—I think you get the idea…

We have one Development Director who (in addition to raising over $200,000 per year) monitors our alumni association, orchestrates our school celebrations, oversees the lending of Doane Stuart space to the public, administers our telephone system, and keeps me on track. I’m pretty sure she wrote the proposal for this award.

They are assisted by one talented publications person, and by the best proofreader in the world – who also is our college counselor and assistant director of admissions.  There is a part-time assistant who drives all over the several counties distributing flyers and other low-tech materials; she is fueled by her belief that DS is the best place for her three children.”

Clarke also complimented Overit, who has been a long-time partner: “They are the mavens of marketing, PR, website design and recently the most sophisticated audio studio in the region. They have built our website (twice), made cool videos for us, designed our profiles for social media, and streamlined our communications plan. They have recently been cited as one of the ten best places in the region to work.”

Joining Clarke was Sharon Duker, President of the Board of Trustees and Darlene Gallagher, Director of Development.

Congratulations to Pam Clarke!
